If I were to do a music video...

The genre I would go for in my music video would be Indie/Alternative rock. Current music videos that I have been looking at in this genre are ones such as 'I always knew- The Vaccines' and 'Love Sick- Peace'. The reason I would choose to do the music video in this genre would be because I know the genre very well. This would help me with creating a music video around the music as I would already know what is usually used in these type of videos.

I have been thinking about Hope and Love being a main theme in my music video. In most alternative rock music videos the colours are usually dark with only few colours running throughout. I would keep this colour selection when creating my own video as it highlights the genre. An idea for the storyline that I was thinking was a boy raising/looking after a horse, trying to get the animals trust. I would use scenes of the main character caring for the horse in ways of grooming, feeding and exercising it, at first the horse will disregard him and act out against him. Then I would have him trying to ride the horse which doesn't really work out. However, about half way through it starts to show a bond between the two and by the end they are successful with riding and sharing love for one another. This will definitely show the themes of Love and Hope through the perseverance of the main character.

I also really like the video to 'How long will I love you- Ellie Goulding'. I think the naturalism of both characters in the video is great and I don't feel that there is a serious/stern feel to it at all. I would try to incorporate this into my music video as I feel it would match with the storyline of a journey and also match the choice of song very well.

The song I would use for my music video would be 'Pacifier- Catfish and the Bottleman'. I chose this song because it has many different levels in the music which is good for different levels of emotions and actions for the video. I also like this song because I feel as though there doesn't need to be lip singing in the video, which I would not be keen on doing in my music video.
